This call accelerates the deployment of Net‑Zero Technologies in real manufacturing environments by funding SME-led innovation and demonstration projects. It strengthens European industrial competitiveness while contributing to industrial decarbonisation through trans‑regional and trans‑national SME collaboration.
If you are an SME with a near‑market solution (or a factory use‑case), JEWEL helps you prove it in a real manufacturing setting and move faster toward customers. You can receive a lump‑sum grant up to €54,000, covering up to 90% of your project budget (minimum total budget €60,000), so you keep focus on delivery instead of bookkeeping. The call targets battery & energy storage, hydrogen (electrolysers/fuel cells), electricity grid tech, and renewable energy solutions for industrial decarbonisation—perfect for SMEs building scalable NZT products and implementations. Only SMEs receive direct funding, but you can bring universities/RTOs/experts as subcontractors and large companies as unfunded partners to strengthen your demo and route-to-market.
Germany and the Netherlands are eligible because applicants must be SMEs established in eligible EU Member States (or COSME-associated countries).
Collaboration is mandatory: you must apply as a consortium of at least 2 independent SMEs from 2 different eligible NUTS‑2 regions (NL–DE is therefore fully possible). Even better: if funded SMEs are established in different eligible countries, the proposal can receive bonus points for its transnational dimension. If you want quick traction, this is built for TRL ~6→8 demonstrations, meaning tangible pilots, measurable impact, and a credible market deployment path within 9 months.
Funding is provided as a lump sum, based on an estimated budget explaining how the grant will be used (no detailed reporting of actual costs required).
