GreenMantis – 1st Innovation Open Call

GreenMantis supports European SMEs in developing and adopting net‑zero and energy‑efficient technologies for manufacturing. The scheme strengthens competitiveness, sustainability, and resilience through transnational SME collaboration.

GreenMantis offers ambitious SMEs a unique opportunity to bring net‑zero innovations from lab to market. Through equity‑free funding, entrepreneurs can develop, pilot, and demonstrate energy‑efficient solutions that directly improve industrial processes. Manufacturing SMEs and energy‑technology SMEs can each receive up to €60,000, with up to €100,000 per project, provided at least 20% private co‑financing is contributed. Eligible applicants must be SMEs located in the EU or associated countries, and both Dutch and German SMEs are fully eligible. Funding is only available for collaborative projects, as a consortium of at least two independent SMEs from two different countries is mandatory. Larger companies or universities may participate but cannot receive funding. In addition to financial support, entrepreneurs gain access to training, international missions, and high‑value European networking. Administrative obligations are present but manageable, including proposal submission in English, periodic reporting, participation in training, one international mission, and a final GreenMantis Day. The lump‑sum funding model significantly reduces financial administration, while still requiring clear delivery of milestones and results. Overall, GreenMantis is an excellent springboard for SMEs ready to scale green manufacturing innovations internationally.
