CARE-FLOW
Data‑driven cross‑border healthcare software improving patient‑flow management and regional capacity planning.
CARE‑FLOW develops intelligent, data‑driven software and algorithms to improve the management of patient flows and healthcare capacities in the German–Dutch border region. The project focuses on emergency services, hospitals, and nursing facilities, enabling shared use of resources such as ambulances and intensive care beds. It aims to replace duplicated infrastructure with coordinated cross‑border capacity planning. Early project phases include identifying healthcare needs, creating data models, and defining software requirements. The project will deliver forecasting and planning tools that support both daily operational decisions and crisis scenarios such as pandemics. Training concepts ensure smooth implementation and long‑term usability of the developed products. Solutions are co‑created with universities, companies, and healthcare providers from both countries to ensure practical applicability. Final results will be tested in real‑life scenarios to establish lasting structures for joint capacity planning. The Lead Partner is the University of Twente. Total estimated project costs: € 4,573,508.10.
