MOMO-C Use-Case Workshop in Münster
On August 26, 2025, the MOMO-C (Mobile Modular Charger) project team met at the Fraunhofer Research Facility for Battery Cell Production (FFB) in Münster for a dedicated use-case workshop.
The participants developed a shared vision for MOMO-C and examined the key factors influencing its development. These included legal and regulatory requirements, economic drivers, environmental and infrastructure conditions, as well as design considerations such as size, software and charging solutions. The diverse expertise of the project partners allowed the challenges to be discussed from multiple perspectives, leading to a more comprehensive understanding of the requirements.
As part of the workshop, a thought experiment simulated an electric aircraft flight to Borkum. This exercise highlighted additional aspects such as boarding procedures, on-site charging and the passenger experience.
The day concluded with a visit to the FFB PreFab, a unique research and development facility for battery cell production. The insights gained during the workshop will guide the next steps in advancing MOMO-C and contribute to the future of sustainable aviation.
