Visit of Dutch Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations to TECH.LAND partner Twente Board
On 10 March 2025, Dutch Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations Judith Uitermark visited Twente as part of the National Programme Vital Regions (NPVR). Here, she spoke among others with the chairman of our TECH.LAND partner Twente Board Ank Bijleveld about the opportunities in the Twente region and how cross-border cooperation can play a role in this.
Discussions included cross-border cooperation in technical innovation between the German states of North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony and the Dutch region of Twente. For example, the minister praised the cooperation between our TECH.LAND partners the University of Twente, the University of Münster and the Medisch Spectrum Twente They cooperate in the field of improving training, in-service training of medical staff and digitalisation.
In addition, the work of our partner Young Twente Board was praised as they contribute to young people becoming more involved in the Twente region and cooperating with each other. This contributes to a good living environment.
It is valuable to see that the minister, on behalf of the Dutch government, recognises the importance of German-Dutch cooperation in which the border is not seen as an obstacle but rather as an opportunity. The minister's visit contributes to addressing societal challenges and increasing the global competitiveness of the Münster - Enschede region that seeks to realise its full technology and innovation potential.
