TECH.LAND Passport Included in the FFB Fab Foundation Stone Ceremony

September was already full of milestones for science and innovation, and October started with another historic moment: the groundbreaking at the Fraunhofer-Einrichtung Forschungsfertigung Batteriezelle FFB. This event marks a major step in Dutch-German cross-border collaboration, bringing together science, industry, and politics to build a future-driven network for sustainable battery innovation in the heart of Europe.

We are especially proud that our TECH.LAND Passport was included in the symbolic time capsule, representing our shared vision for the future and the strength of this Triple-Helix network

A Historic Milestone for Battery Innovation

The ceremony follows the spring groundbreaking for the “FFB Fab” and celebrates the formal laying of the foundation stone. The event was attended by distinguished guests, including:

  • NRW Minister of Economic Affairs, Mona Neubaur

  • NRW Minister of Science, Ina Brandes

  • State Secretary Rolf-Dieter Jungk

  • Members of the Fraunhofer Board for Research Infrastructures and Digitalization, including Professor Axel Müller-Groeling

Building the Future of Battery Production

With the FFB Fab, 20,000 square meters of new production and research space will be developed. The facility will focus on economically and ecologically sustainable manufacturing processes for current and future cell technologies, scaling production to the gigawatt level.

Every day, our goal is to foster innovations for efficient and sustainable battery cell production, and the foundation stone ceremony marks a key milestone on this journey.

A sincere thank you to all partners, contributors, and guests who made this event possible. 💚
We are proud to be part of this collaborative network shaping the future of sustainable battery innovation.
